The Batman Cards from Topps

The Topps Company will be producing a series of trading cards based on Warner Bros. Animation's television series, The Batman. The highly collectible "chase cards" in this series will be sketch cards featuring original hand drawn artwork by a number of artists. A large number of the cards - 2,000 of them in fact - were drawn by The Batman Strikes artist Christopher Jones.

When there is more news on the exact timing of the cards release, it will be posted here.


J. Torres on The Batman Strikes

The Batman Strikes #16 will feature a fill-in script by Teen Titans Go writer J. Torres. The regular art team of Christopher Jones and Terry Beatty provide the artwork for this story featuring the Joker and grand theft Batmobile.


Dr. Blink

Dr. Blink #2 was released in July of 2005, and featured the story of Jimmy Hogan, formerly the fifth Wonder Boy and sidekick to the grim avenger Nocturne. Issue #3 should be solicited in the coming months as we continue to ramp up to a schedule that will allow us the reach our target pace of four original issues a year, plus a special and trade paperback.

Appearances

Fallcon 2005 - Saturday October 8 and Sunday October 9

Chris will be appearing at the Minnesota Comic Book Association's FallCon 2005 on October 8 & 9 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Chris will be appearing along with Batman Strikes inker Terry Beatty, and many other local and national guests, including Dick Giordano, Joe Staton, Steve Englehart, Marshall Rogers, and Terry Austin. Hamline Midway Library - Saturday, October 22, at 1 p.m.

Chris will be appearing at the Hamline Midway Library on Saturday, October 22, at 1:00 p.m. The talk will be geared toward teens but all are welcome to attend, as Chris talks about cartooning and how comic books are made.

Maple Grove Library - Sunday, October 30, 1:30-2:30pm

Creating Comics: How are comic books put together? DC comic book artist Christopher Jones, penciller for "Batman Strikes" and co-creator and artist for "Dr. Blink, Superhero Shrink," will talk about how writers and artists work together.

The Scrimshaw Show Halloween Spooktacular! - Monday, October 31

Christopher will be appearing on stage as part of the Halloween Spooktacular edition of the Scrimshaw Show, a monthly comedy show at the Bryant Lake Bowl in Minneapolis. More details on this as they are announced.

Filmcon - November 18-20, Madison, WI
